Clarendons advises private equity backed Superior Food Group on another bolt on acquisition of WA business

Clarendon Lawyers is delighted to have advised Superior Food Group (Superior Foods) on its recent acquisition of the ‘contracting and street’ businesses in Western Australia from KB Foods Co (C&S Business).

Established in 1992, Superior Foods is a portfolio company of Quadrant Private Equity and an award-winning, Australian-owned national foodservice distributor with a market leading reputation in storage and distribution services. Superior Foods boasts an extensive product range and strategically-placed distribution capabilities throughout Australia.

The acquisition of the C&S Business has expanded Superior Foods’ capabilities in Western Australia, enabling it to supply an expanded product range to the foodservice market. This transaction represents another significant step in executing Superior Foods’ growth strategy to expand its national foodservice business. Clarendon Lawyers also advised Superior Foods on its acquisitions of Carey Distribution and Total Marine Supply & Logistics in 2020, Frozpak Food Services in 2018 and Clover Valley Fine Foods and Global Meats in 2017.

The Clarendons team was led by Managing Director Tony Symons and Senior Associate Alexandra Gleed.

Mr Symons congratulated Superior Foods on the successful completion of another bolt-on transaction.  “We are thrilled to have advised Superior Foods on another acquisition in the foodservice sector – one which represents a significant milestone for them in the establishment of a national foodservice footprint.

“This year, we are seeing a number of our clients, many of whom are private equity backed, take advantage of opportunities to make strategic acquisitions to strengthen or expand their businesses.”
