Clarendons advises Armaguard Group on expansion of ATM network via ANZ and CBA acquisitions

Clarendon Lawyers is delighted to have advised the Armaguard Group (Armaguard) on its recent acquisitions of ANZ’s entire offsite ATM network (1200+ ATMs) and a further 300+ selected offsite ATMs from CBA.

The two transactions, following on from the acquisition of the rediATM network in 2019, represent significant growth for Armaguard’s expanding national ATM network, which will soon be reborn as a new ATM brand powered by Armaguard. These acquisitions ensure that Armaguard’s goal of establishing Australia’s most dynamic united national ATM network across thousands of locations (enabling the Australian community (including rural and remote areas) to continue to have easy and secure access to cash) will be met.

Armaguard CEO Annette Carey commented that “In a year that has been like no other, 2020 has presented plenty of uncertainty and has redefined what it means to be essential.  Between bushfires, extreme weather events and the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that cash remains a constant necessity, and is an essential part of everyday living for many people across Australia.”

The Clarendon team was led by Director, Nick Manuell, who was assisted by Director, David Bryant and Associate, Ingrid Mohr.

ANZ were advised by Ashurst, CBA by MinterEllison.

Nick congratulated Armaguard “We love working with the Armaguard team and assisting them with these key acquisitions was a pleasure – they have been a great supporter of the firm and continue to execute their ATM strategy perfectly.”
